IDENTIFIKASI RHODAMIN B PADA MINUMAN ES SEMANGKA INDIA DI KECAMATAN PADANG TIMUR

A research study was conducted at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Academy of Ranah Minang Padang from May to July 2022, entitled "Identification of Rhodamine B in Indian Watermelon Ice drink in the East Padang District." The methods utilized were UV Lamp Fluorescence and Thin Layer Chromatography. The objective of this study was to determine whether the Indian Watermelon Ice drink available in the East Padang District contains the dye Rhodamine B. The findings derived from the UV Lamp Fluorescence technique indicated that none of the five samples exhibited any fluorescence, in contrast to the reference sample that did exhibit fluorescence when exposed to UV light. Furthermore, using the Thin Layer Chromatography method, none of the five samples exhibited any stain spots on the KLT plate, resulting in an Rf value of (0). Therefore, it can be concluded that Indian Watermelon Ice available in the East Padang District does not contain the dye Rhodamine B
