Abstract

Learning difficulties is a condition in the learning process that is characterized by the existence of certain obstacles to achieving learning outcomes and experiencing failure in achieving learning goals. Someone can be suspected of having learning difficulties if the person concerned fails to reach a certain level of study qualification within a certain time limit. Learning difficulties that occur in a student are generally caused by certain factors, namely contributing factors that come from within the students themselves which includes learning motivation, family environment and technology (gadgets). This study aims to determine the description of the factors associated with the occurrence of learning difficulties in children aged 6-12 years at the Child and Adolescent Poly Psychiatric Hospital of HB. Saanin Padang. The type of research used is descriptive. The total sample of this study was 51 people. Accidental sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by guided interviews with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques with univariate analysis. Data is processed manually and computerized. Based on the results of this study, 45% of children have poor learning motivation levels, 33% of children have unfavorable family environment levels, 73% of children have abnormal gadget usage levels. This research can be a picture for health workers and parents that learning motivation, family environment and the use of gadgets are very related to the occurrence of learning difficulties in children. Therefore, it is expected that parents participate to emphasize and continue to monitor the use of gadgets in children to avoid learning difficulties.
